Illustrated, Limited Edition

'The Horse's Mouth' was first published in 1944, and follows the tale of Gulley Jimson, a con artist.

Written by Joyce Cary (1888-1957), an Anglo-Irish novelist.

Edited and with a preface, notes and bibliography by Andrew Wright.

Illustrated with a self-portrait and eight illustrations by the author.

This is a limited edition, presented with a slipcase.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally lovely, spine is slightly faded, and otherwise with general wear. Slipcase is a little worn and faded but remains structurally sound. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean.
