Signed by the translator, Patric Dickinson to the title page. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. From the library of Allen Freer with his ink signature to the front free endpaper. Freer was a noted collector, writer, artist and craftsman. This collection of works contains three of Aristophanes's best known works, The Acharnians, The Peace and Lysistrata. Aristophanes is considered the Father of Comedy and is credited for his accurate depiction of ancient Athens. Patric Dickinson was a British translator and poet.
In the original red cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally in lovely condition with slight shelf wear to the extremities. Dustwrapper is very smart with bumping to the extremities. Handling marks to the wrap. Slight chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just marginal age toning. Previous owner's ink inscription to front free endpaper.
