Description
Arthur Conan Doyle carried a long interest in the mystical and paranormal, and favoured Christian spiritualism; he published a history of Spiritualism in 1926. Ivan Cooke edited numerous works on his spiritual encounters with Conan Doyle after the latter's death.
Published by the White Eagle Lodge, a spiritual organisation founded by Ivan and Grace Cooke which promotes healing, meditation, astrology and yoga.

With the library bookplate of the Theosophical Society in England to the front pastedown.
Condition
In the original full paper vellum. Externally rather worn; loss to the tail of the spine from the removal of a label. Rear joint is starting at the head. Vellum is spotted and discoloured, with bumping to the extremities. Library bookplate to the front pastedown and ownership inscription to the front endpaper; stamp to the title page. Internally, binding is generally firm, with a strain noticeable to the front hinge at the title page. Pages are bright and clean bar the odd pencil annotation.
