Illustrated with the occasional full-paged map throughout the four volumes.
Written by Winston Churchill. Though this work was well received, his best known historical work is 'The Second World War'.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrappers. Externally, generally smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spines. Spots to the fore edges. Marks to the boards of Volume I, fainter marks to the boards of Volumes II and III. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of Volume II. Light edge wear and a little discolouration to the dust wrappers, including to the spines. A few minor spots and marks to the dust wrappers, including to the reverse. Tape repair to the head of the spine to the reverse of the dust wrapper of Volume IV. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots.
