The first volume contains and introduction of the Barque and Neo-Classicism, with a detailed catalogue. The second contains illustrations of the exhibition and objects within it.
The exhibition was concerned with the relationship between the fine arts and social culture during the period between the death of Queen Anne and the end of the century. Exploring the five styles that excited designers and artists of the times, being Baroque, Rococo, Chinoiserie, Gothic and Neo-Classic.

In quarter calf with cloth covered boards. Externally, lovely. Library stamp to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
