The first American edition of this work, published in English in the UK edition in the same year. Translated from the French by Mervyn Savill. 

French novel by Jules Roy based on his experiences as an RAF Bomber Command Pilot.

Jules Roy was a French author. His work was often informed from his experiences in the French colony and during his service in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.

Complete with the vanishingly scarce, unclipped dust wrapper designed by Bill English.

Condition

In the original publisher's printed boards binding. Externally very smart with light wear only, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, darkened to upper and lower margin of spine and boards. Dust wrapper unclipped and sound, lightly rubbed to spine with minor loss. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to edges, not affecting pages that are bright and clean.
