What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

First edition. The novel starts from the idea that Homer's Odyssey was written by a princess in the Greek settlements in Sicily. Graves speculatively reconstructions of who she was and why she wrote such a work, as well as modifying the legends that existed in her own time to partly match a crisis in her own life. Written by Captain Robert von Ranke Graves, an English poet, soldier, historical novelist and critic.

Condition

In the original black cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the panels. Sympathetic repairs to the reverse of the wrap made with paper tape. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot and minor age toning to the endpapers.
