The first edition of this work.

Signed by Martin Shaw to the half-title, 'Best Wishes, from George Gently, (a.k.a. Martin Shaw)'. Shaw portrayed the character George Gently in the BBC series 'Inspector George Gently', which broadcast from 2007 to 2017.

In the original price-clipped dustwrapper.

'Gently Does It' is the first novel in the 'Inspector George Gently' series. 

'George Gently' is a detective series set primarily in Norfolk, East Anglia.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown and to the recto to the front endpaper.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown and to the recto to the front endpaper. Dustwrapper with minor edgewear, with a tape repair to the reverse repairing a closed tear to the head of the spine. A little discolouration and some marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the odd spot. Signature to the half-title.
