First Edition, Illustrated, Very Scarce
Profusely illustrated throughout with nineteen monochrome woodcuts designed by members of the college. With an ink inscription from the publsiher to the front pastedown: "For V.J. With the best wishes and affection of all at the West of England College of Art. Bristol January 1957" The West of England College of Art was a prestigious art college based in the centre of Bristol and was established by Bristish artist Ellen Sharples. This charming work of selected passages of John Latimer's 'The Annals of Bristol' has been profusely illustrated, put together and published by members of the academy. The Annals of Bristol is a historical work detailing the development of the city, including discussion regarding perhaps Bristol's most well-known name, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Condition
In a half cloth binding with decorative paper boards. Externally in excellent condition with just some minor shelfwear to the extremities. Very slight sunning to the extremities.Ink inscription to front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
