Description

Illustrated, Scarce

This work contains the pipe music traditionally played by the Scot's Guards. The Scot's Guards is a Foot Guards regiment of the British Army, with its history traceable to 1642 making it the oldest formed regiment in the Regular Army. 

This copy contains a bookplate detailing that it was presented to the Royal United Service Institution by a Colonel H. N. Clowes. The Royal United Service Institution was founded by the Duke of Wellington, Sir Arthur Wellesley, in 1832, and remains an important British defence and security research centre.

Illustrated with a full colour plate as well as four black and white plates.

Condition

In a full cloth binding. Externally very smart, minor shelf wear only. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean.
