This book is volume four in a series. This book is a Portuguese account of the ‘Monumental African Missionary in Western Africa’, from 1469 to 1599. Including various papers by Paulo Dias de Novais, a Portuguese colonizer of Africa, and a nobleman of the Portuguese Royal Household, who arrived in Angola in 1575. Collated and annotated by Padre Antonio Brasio. With twelve illustrated plates. A loose page in the book, 'Addenda & Corrigenda ao iii Volume', however doesn't appear to be from this book but from a previous volume.
Condition
In the original paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Some handling marks and shelfwear to the boards and spine. Discolouration to the tail of spine, due to tape, a fragment of which has been torn off. Paper sticker to the tail of spine. Bumping to the head and tail of spine, and to the extremities. Minor tears to the head and tail of the front joint, however remains firm. Internally. firmly bound. Pages are bright. Library stamps to the verso of the title page, ‘International African Institute’ and ‘Cancelled’.
