Early Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
A signed photograph of South African dancer Nadia Nerina is loosely inserted. Nerina is a subject of this work and was one of the best dancers of the 1950s and 1960s.
Both volumes are third impressions.
With the original dustwrappers which are price clipped.
Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper to 'Baron Encore' 'Margaret Ward, July 1955'.
A stunning collection of photographs by this noted portraitist, who was a court photographer. Baron's real name was Stirling Henry Nahum.
From the library of Joan Hewson, the Renowned Cecchetti School of Dance Instructor. Joan left a legacy of numerous successful professional dancers from across the world. She was greatly appreciated by her students, as is evident from the many gifts that form her library.
Condition
In the original full cloth bindings, with price-clipped dustwrappers. Externally, very smart with a few marks to boards. Dustwrapper is generally smart with chips to the extremities. Repair internally to the rear of dustwrapper to 'Baron at the Ballet'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
