William Shakespeare's complete works in four volumes, being a new Nonesuch Press edition, the first published in 1929 in seven volumes. With the text and order of the first folio with quarto variants and a choice of modern readings noted marginally by Herbert Farjeon. With a new introduction by Ivor Brown.
This newly designed edition was printed on India paper and on Japon vellum. The open letters of the title page and the half title head pieces and dedication are from wood engravings by Reynolds Stone.
Divided in four volumes containing all his Comedies, Histories, Tragedies &c., and Poems.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding over marbled cloth boards. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minimal bumping to the head and tail of the spine. With the Westwick house bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with only the odd faint mark to the odd leaf.
