Naomi Mitchison was a Scottish novelist and poet who wrote over 90 books of historical and science fiction, travel writing and autobiography. This volume is one of her novels that focuses on contemporary themes, set on Scotland's western coast.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some bumping to the extremities and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In the original unclipped dust wrapper which is smart with loss to the tail of the spine and some light marks to the spine and wraps.
