This is Volume I of the series presenting Dorset's historical monuments. There were five volumes in the series.
This particular volume covers the west of Dorset, with chapters on Sherborne, Lyme Regis and Fleet, among many others.
Illustrated with two hundred and twelve plates to accompany the text, as well as folding maps and vignettes, and a large folding map in colour held in a pocket to the rear of the work. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original red cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light rubbing, mainly to the extremities, and the odd mark. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear and the occasional chip or tear, heavier to the head of the spine. Light soiling to the wrap, with the odd mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
