A fascinating 1950s aircraft manual for the De Havilland Ghost, the De Havilland Engine Company's second design of turbojet engine, and the world's first gas turbine engine to be produced. It was an improved version of the Goblin, the company's previous design, and the Ghost was used to power the De Havilland Venom, De Havilland Comet, and SAAB 29 Tunnan.
This manual contains information on the operation, maintenance, and overhaul of the Ghost engine.
Illustrated with two folding plates and numerous in-text illustrations, many which are in colour.
Collated, and lacking chapters 24 to 38.
In the original cloth binding with the original tabbed dividers.
A scarce work.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Small flecks of paint to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Some spots and staining to the title page. The title page to page ix have been partially adhered together, but can be separated professionally. A few patches of staining and a few light tidemarks to the odd page.
