What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

First published by Little, Brown and Company in July 1951, this Grosset & Dunlap edition was published by arrangement with Little, Brown later in the same year.

This is considered as to be a first edition thus, and is one of Grosset & Dunlap's 'low-priced handsome editions' of best sellers.

As the publisher's original dust wrapper is price clipped, the first printing issue point of the six digit code to the head of the front flyleaf is absent, and printing cannot be determined. This copy does however comply with the early issue point of six Grosset & Dunlap titles to the rear wrap.

A wonderful early edition of one of the most important novels published in the twentieth century, a classic of American literature.

Teenager Holden Caulfield narrates the events of a weekend in which he leaves the prep school he has been expelled from and wonders New York city.
