Illustrated, Signed, Very Scarce

A very scarce souvenir brochure in the original pictorial paper wraps. Signed by Arthur Wellard to the photograph on the front of the paper wraps. A souvenir brochure celebrating a 1951 Testimonial for Arthur Wellard (1902-1980), a talented cricketer who played for Somerset and England. Wellard exemplified the happy-go-lucky spirit of Somerset cricket in the 1930s. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1936. Illustrated with 18 photographs, Bill Andrews gives an account of Wellard's career. Also contains facsimile autographs of Wellard and his Somerset colleagues. A page of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

In the original pictorial paper wraps. Externally fairly smart, with age toning to the perimeters of the wraps, and a small stain to the front of the wrap. Bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
