Description

First Edition, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. The Trap follows the story of a young man during the interwar period, and is thought to be inspired by Dan Billany's own experiences. In 1942, Billany was taken as a prisoner of war in Southern Italy, and then released in 1943, but was never found and was presumed dead in 1944. The manuscripts of The Trap were left in the care of a farmer, and eventually sent to Billany's parents once the war was over. The Trap was published to great acclaim.

Condition

In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are clean but a little age toned, with spotting to the fore edge. Dust wrapper remains bright, but is a little chipped to the head and tail of the spine and sunned to the spine.
