Volumes III, IV, V and VI are first editions. Volume I and II are reprints, Volume I is a 'New Edition, revised and reset, published November 1949' with volume II being 'New edition, revised, published November 1950'.

'The Second World War' starts from the end of the First World War to July 1945 and is split into four sections, 'In War: Resolution', 'In Defeat: Defiance', 'In Victory: Magnanimity', 'In Peace: Goodwill'.
This work was written with a team of assistants and was written from Churchill's own personal view of the war.
Condition
In a uniform half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with just some light rubbing to the raised bands and to the head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Tidemark to the bottom edge of volume IV, only encroaching on front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with just the odd spot.
