First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

Illustrated by Ronald Searle. Langley was a South African novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director. One of his screenplays was used as a basis for the 1939 film 'The Wizard of Oz'. Ronald Searle was a British artist and satirical cartoon artist. He created the famous St Trinian's School and collaborated with Geoffrey Willans on the Molesworth series. Searle received many critical recognition for his work especially in America. He won the National Cartoonists Society's Advertising and Illustration Award in 1959 and 1965, The Reuben Award in 1960 and many more.

Condition

In original full cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper is bumped and chipped to the head and tail of spine. Tape repairs to the head and tail of joints. Marks to wraps. Prior owner's initials to the front pastedown, H C. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
