Gift inscription to the recto of front endpaper, 'Dad for a very happy christmas, 1949'. 

Loosely inserted is a handwritten short spooky tale. The account is written in ballpoint pen, and describes a woman walking through a storm. 

A smart copy of this short story collection, intended to shock and disturb the reader.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spotting to the fore-edge, affecting the occasional page. Light spots to the first and last few pages.
