First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

A fascinating biographical work on the life and artwork of William Blake. Blake was a poet and painter of the Romantic age, and is considered to be a seminal figure in his fields of work.

The first edition of this work. 

Illustrated with eight electrotypes of original plates, forty-eight reproductions in collotype from works by William Blake, and five in-text figures. Collated and complete. 

An advance review copy, with a loosely inserted card from the publisher inviting the recipient to review the work. 

Enclosed in the original dust wrapper. 

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just some light shelf wear and a small mark to the front board. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound, with some light sunning and a few amateur tape repairs to the head of the front of the wrap. A few small marks to the rear of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
