    First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

    A satirical novella inspired by Waugh's trip to Hollywood in 1947, concerning the funeral business, film industry in Los Angeles, and a community of British expatriates. By Evelyn Waugh, considered to be one of the foremost authors in the twentieth century.

    Complete with unclipped dust wrapper.

    In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper unclipped and excellent with minor shelf wear, lightly chipped to head and tail of spine with minor closed tear to rear wrap. Previous ownership ink inscription to front free endpaper, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
