First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

This literary family are well known as both poets and novelists. This work was published as a part of 'The English Novelists Series'. Second impression of this work which was first published in 1947. With original scarce dustwrapper. Phyllis Bentley wrote several works on the Bronte sisters including 'The Young Brontes' and 'The Brontes and Their World'. She was a novelist herself and a literary celebrity in the 1930's.

Condition

In publisher's cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent. Very little shelfwear to the boards. Minor bumping to the extremities. Dustwrapper is chipped to the head of spine. Closed tear to the head of front joint. Bumping and light chipping to the extremities and tail of spine. Several marks and spots to the wraps, heavier to the rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean throughout.
