First edition. Signed by the author, dated November 1948. A charming and exciting story written when the author was only fourteen years old, during school holidays. The trust built between herself and her pony 'Satin' was the inspiration for this novel. Illustrated throughout by G Sifton, with a coloured frontispiece.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Unclipped dust wrapper, also smart with light chipping to the extremities, particularly the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the edges. Contemporary ink inscription from author to the front.
