'Emma' follows about a year in the life of the young woman Emma Woodhouse, who decides to try her hand at matchmaking, finding matches for her new best friend, Harriet. Jane Austen has become one of the most popular Georgian writers, her novels being loved for generations. Her ironic social commentary offers an interesting insight into Upper-Middle class Georgian life. Her other novels are 'Sense and Sensibility', 'Northanger Abbey', 'Mansfield Park', and 'Persuasion'.

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrappers. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the boards. Dustwrapper with light edgewear, resulting in a small closed tear to the head of the rear wrap of 'Pride and Prejudice'. A few light marks to the dustwrappers. Creases to the spines of the dustwrappers. A little age-toning to the reverse of the wraps. Front hinge of 'Pride and Prejudice is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the odd light spot.
