A charming collection of essays from noted English nature writer and essayist, John Richard Jefferies (1848-1887).

Jefferies was known for his depiction of rural life in essays, novels, and books of natural history. His writings cover a range of genres and topics such as Belvis (1882), a children’s book, ‘After London’ (1885), a science fiction writing, and ‘Round About a Great Estate’ (1880), an esteemed collection of essays.

Beautifully illustrated with pencil drawings by Richard Jefferies and his uncle, John Luckett Jefferies.

Containing a bibliography of Jefferies’ work to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher’s cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Dust wrapper has some wear and chipping to the extremities. Some light marks to the dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
