A scarce translated copy of the first three books of Virgil's Georgics, nicely bound in a full calf binding.

As the name suggests the subject of the poem is agriculture; but far from being an example of peaceful rural poetry, it is a work characterised by tensions in both theme and purpose.

Condition

Rebound in a full calf binding. Externally generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a couple of handling marks. Ink signature to the title page.
