First edition, in a contemporary half calf binding, with cloth boards.

Arthur Hopkinson provides a running commentary of the works of British theological writer, William Law. With a foreword by the Dean of Winchester, E. Gordon Selwyn.

William Law was a Church of England priest who lost his placement at Emmanuel College when he refused to take an oath of allegiance to the first Hanoverian King, George I. Law was known for his extensive writings on practical divinity and mysticism.

With the bookplate of W. J. Palmer.

Condition

In a contemporary half calf binding, with cloth boards. Externally, excellent, with fading to the spine and the head of the boards. Slight spotting to the cloth. Bookplate to the front endpaper. Very light spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
