What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Plates, Illustrated, Original Binding

Complete in three volumes.

A comprehensive report and description of the relics, antiquities, and excavations at the Iron Age settlement on the Somerset Levels at Meare Lake Village.

The Meare villages were discovered in 1895 but the excavations did not begin until 1908. Archaeologists uncovered many hearths and the buried ruins of Iron Age homes. The majority of the work was carried out by Arthur Bulleid and Harold Gray, the authors of this work (in addition to Mrs M. Aylwin Cotton).

Volume I contains twenty-three plates, collated and complete.

Volume II contains thirty plates, collated and complete.

Volume III contains twelve plates, collated and complete.

All volumes also contain numerous in-text illustrations and figures.
