The story pf the Chamberlens, descendants of a Huguenot doctor, who practised as man-midwives to the Court and nobility of England from the time of James I to Queen Anne. With reference to their use of a special instrument kept as a family secret for nearly 200 years. Written by Walter Radcliffe.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper also smart, with light shelf wear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine. The odd closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light scattered spotting to the extremities.
