J. V Hewes is an author known for writing during and after the Second World War, with the war being a big influence to his work.

This particular work is set during the Second World War, in the year 1940. Hewes writes that this book touches slightly on the fantastic, although the story itself is a miraculous one. The aim of the novel is to leave the reader to decide if the story is to be accepted and if it holds value.
