This interpretation, and translation of the tale from Valmiki's epic, the Ramayana, was written so that the story can be told to a wider audience. To the preface, Collis writes 'This ancient evergreen tale, or part of it, forms the central section of this book'.

The first edition of this work, limited to only five hundred copies. 

Copiously illustrated throughout by the renowned English writer, artist, poet, and illustrator Mervyn Peake.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just a touch of shelf wear and a few light marks to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
