In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper.

This unique work is completely reversible from inside and out, allowing the reader to reveal two alternatives of a series of outlandish illustrations and the accompanying text.

The portraits were illustrated by Rex Whistler, a British artist who also designed theatrical costumes. With text written by his brother, Laurence Whistler, a poet and glass engraver. 

Condition

In the original paper covered boards. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. With slight bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine head and tail. Scattered spots to the boards, heavier to the front board. Dust wrapper is also smart, with a tear and small chip to the spine. With general edge wear and scattered spots to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spotting to the endpapers.
