    First edition. Illustrated with fourteen photographs across eight plates. Collated complete. New Writing was a popular literary periodical in book format founded in 1936 by John Lehmann and committed to anti-fascism. This edition includes contributions from writers and artists such as: John Heath-Stubbs, George Seferis, Andre Chamson, V. S. Pritchett, Rose Macaulay, Andre Gide, Edith Sitwell, Lawrence Durrell, Laurie Lee, and more. With In Daylight II from John Lehmann, an English publisher, poet and man of letters.

    Condition

    In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges. A 2" split in the cloth to the rear joint resulting in minor fraying. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting.
