What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

Two volumes. First edition. Written by Noel Langley, a South African-born American novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director best known for writing the screenplay which formed the basis for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. This set includes: The Music of The Heart, 1946. A novel of circus life, exploring mature philosophical themes with fun and fresh turns of phrase. Where Did Everybody Go?, 1960. File copy. With compliments from George Weidenfeld & Nicholson Limited, a British publishing house. Against a brash and violent background, we witness the production of a cheap-jack film in Tangier where Giles inherits the revision of a wilting script.

Condition

In the original full red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping and slight fading to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also smart with the odd small closed tear to the extremities and light sunning to the spine. Chipping resulting in light loss to the head and tail of the spine to The Music of The Heart, with creasing to the panel edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with minor age toning to the endpapers.
