What Our Customers Say...
Description
Limited Edition
Bookplate to the verso of front endpaper 'This is no 4 of an edition limited to 1000 copies each signed by the artist'. This copy is not signed, as is frequent with this work.
From the library of Allen and Beryl Freer. The Freers were avid art collectors, and acquired quite the selection over the twentieth century, of works mostly bought from the artists. Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art.
Illustrated throughout, with the fantastic drawings by Michael Ayrton. Ayrton was a stage and costume designer, and therefore his illustrations for this work draw on this aspect of his career.
With introductory essays by George Rylands and Charles Williams.
A fantastic comment of this Jacobean revenge tragedy.
