Illustrated by Lionel Edwards, British artist who specialised in painting horses and other aspects of British country life. With frontispiece and nine coloured plates, as well as numerous illustrations in black and white. Collated, complete.
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Slight white markings to the rear board. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front pastedown, dated 1948 "With love from Lorna and the O M." The dustwrapper is sound with minor chipping and closed tear to the extremities, as well as a minor loss to the spine and a minor puncture mark. Unclipped. Faint tide mark internally to the wraps, cockling the rear wrap slightly. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with frontispiece and nine coloured plates, as well as numerous illustrations in black and white by Lionel Edwards. Collated, complete.
