First Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
This is a volume from the Naval Intelligence Division Geographical Handbook series which was produced between 1941-1946 encompassing 58 volumes and were written to provide information for the Allied war effort.
They were written by academics based at Oxford and Cambridge and the information within the books saved lives throughout the war. Each volume was based on a different geographical location in relation to the war, with this volume detailing Belgium which was crucial within the Second World War.
These volumes were initially restricted during the war and for official use.
The volume is extensively illustrated with maps, photographs and diagrams with two folding maps within the text and a a large colour folding map of Belgium in a pocket to the rear.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some fading to the spine and some marks to the boards. There is a library stamp to the title page. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
