Harler has pasted reviews of this work to the front paste down, recto of the front endpaper, and to the rear endpapers. The occasional ink correction and annotation to the text by Harler, suggesting edits for the forthcoming third edition.

A letter from  S. Jepson, editor of the 'Illustrated Weekly of India', dated 15th June 1943, to the author, is pasted to the rear paste down.

The second edition of this uncommon work, a revised and enlarged edition.

Condition

Rebound in a cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with some light marks to the boards and spine. A little discolouration to the head and tail of the spine. Reviews and letters to the paste downs, recto of the front endpaper, and to the rear endpapers. Some edge wear to the dust wrapper, with chips to the head of the spine, and some smaller closed tears. A little rubbing to the spine. Spine and front wrap are a little age-toned, with some light marks, including a couple of spots to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The occasional ink note by the author to the text.
