What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by Robin Darwin. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. A collection of tales which, according to The Times, has "something of Hans Andersen's pleasure in Scandinavian legend and landscape", by Danish author Karen Blixen. Blixen is best known for her book Out of Africa.

Condition

In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in bright and very smart condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a scattering of spots to the first and last couple of pages, and to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Like all first editions of this work, the dust wrapper was printed on war economy standard paper, and is consequently age toned with wear to the folds and chipping to the head and tail of the spine.
