With an illustrated frontispiece. Arnold was an English poet and cultural critic who also worked as an inspector at schools. He was elected Professor of Poetry at Oxford in 1857 and he was the first in his position to deliver his lectures in English rather than in Latin.
Condition
In a morocco binding. Externally, very smart. Very minor rubbing to the head and tail of spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright. Some spots to top edge, visible at top of some pages.
