This nonsense poem was written by the noted Lewis Carroll, best known for his work 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. The poem tells the story of a crew who are trying to hunt a Snark (a fictional animal) which turns out to be a dangerous Bookjum. This fun poem has been complimented by the expressive and unusual pencil drawings by author and artist Mervyn Peake, who is best known for writing the 'Gormenghast' series.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial hardback. Externally smart with bumping to the extremities, slight rubbing and closed tears to the hinges with rear hinge starting and handling marks to the boards. Offsetting to the front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound with generally clean and very lightly age toned pages with the odd spot.
