In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities and the odd mark to the board. Light fading to the spine on the odd volume. Original dust wrappers are all unclipped other than William The Gangster, Still William, William and A.R.P., William The Conqueror which are price-clipped. Wrappers are smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the board. The odd small closed tear. Light tearing to the head and tail of the spine have been sympathetically repaired with clear tape for More William and William The Gangster. Sympathetic repairs to William The Pirate to repair loss to the bottom of the front board. A split to the spine of William Does His Bit repaired with tape to the interior side. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine of William the Outlaw and William The Fourth. An approx. 4" closed tear to the rear board of Sweet William, with a split to the rear joint. The odd pen mark to the front board of William and A.R.P. A small burn mark to the front board of William Carries On which has also marked the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd handling mark. Light spotting to the endpapers of some volumes. Pen and coloured pencil marks throughout William and A.R.P., with some illustrations having been coloured in by the previous owner. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpapers of Just William, William The Showman, William and the Evacuees, William's Crowded Hours, and William Does His Bit. Contemporary pencil inscription to the front endpaper of Still William. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown of William The Fourth. Previous owner's ink stamp to the front endpaper of William The Rebel.
