First edition. Signed by the author to the half title. Spanning over a third of the most eventful century in the Middle West annal, this work explores the history of the pioneer Hercules Dousman. Written by August William Derleth, an American writer and anthologist.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear and a small mark to the front board. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small closed tear. Light marks to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Author's ink inscription to the half title.
