What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

The scarce first edition of this philosophical work from English science fiction writer Olaf Stapledon.

This was the tenth work in the 'I Believe' series, an initiative whereby leading British intellectuals of the day could pursue an argument pertinent to the times.

Stapledon's volume examines themes frequently encountered in his science fiction, namely humanity's place in the universe. He argues that humanity - in the early days of the Second World War - and the belief in humanity, are undergoing a period of rapid change.

A lovely copy of a scarce first edition of this influential early twentieth century writer.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with bumping to back strip head and tail. Minor spotting to fore edge of text block. Pages clean and bright.
