First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece, two hundred and sixteen plates, nine of which are folding, many in-text figures, and a large folding map to the pocket at the rear of the text. Collated complete. A concise historical statement and pictorial record of the city of Oxford. With each college, church, and ancient building or monument carefully recorded by its essential facts and attributes. From the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments in England.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and panel edges with the odd small mark to the panels. The odd small closed tear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light age toning to the endpapers.
