What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce, With Letter

First edition of The Treatments of Tuberculous Affections with Umckaloabo by Adrien Sechehaye in the original publisher's paper wraps.

A very scarce and interesting collection of observations from the headquarters of Umckaloabo, London, of a trial of new remedies of Tuberculosis under the supervision of Chas. H. Stevens.

Includes two letters inserted from the Ministry of Health from 8th March 1924 and 28th April 1930, in which Stevens' results are disputed.

A very intriguing and well preserved piece of history regarding early attempts to cure Tuberculosis and the development of medicine.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Stain marks to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
