The very scarce 1938 issue of this annual.

'The Straits Times' was an English language daily broadsheet, and the oldest newspaper in Singapore. Originally known as 'The Straits Times and Singapore Journal of Commerce', the paper was established on 15 July 1845. 

This annual article features forty-one articles, including 'Why the Eternal Banana?' by Amynedd, 'A Year with the Malayan Hill Tribe' by H.D. Noone, and 'Jungle Leeches' by M.C. ff S.

Illustrated with four full-page photographic plates, and eight tipped in full colour plates each retaining their tissue guard, alongside numerous further vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.

With eight pages of advertisements to the start of the work, and further advertisements throughout.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, excellent. Small closed tear to head of front wrap. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd handling mark. Bookseller's stamp to tail of final leaf. Small closed tear to fore edge of first fourteen leaves.
